Tahoe Donner Relay Victories

Lake Tahoe, CA - The relay team of Tim, Scott Hill and disabled skier Candice Cable won today’s Tahoe Donner Relays. Scott skied to the 5th fastest time of the day classic kick off leg. Candice then turned her disabled status into an unasailable lead for the team. Tim went on to close out the day with the fastest skate leg of the day.

Verizon Sports Complex, Lake Placid, N.Y. - Team CW-X wrapped up the 2005 Empire State Games with an impressive overall medal count.

    Tim Donahue 1 Silver, 2 Gold - Tim is the 2005 NYS 10 km Classic Sliver Medalist, the NYS 10 km Freestyle Champion and the NYS Pursuit Champion
    Joe Moore 1 Gold, 1 Sliver - Joe is the 2005 NYS 10 km Masters Classic Champion, the NYS 10 km Freestyle Silver Medalist and the NYS Pursuit Silver Medalist
    Sproule Love 1 Gold - Sproule is 2005 NYS 10 km Classic Champion
    Rosanne Lent 1 Gold, 3 Silver - Rosanne Lent is the 2005 NYS 10 km Classic Champion, the NYS 10 km Freestyle Silver Medalist and the NYS Pursuit Silver Medalist. Rosanne is also the 2005 NYS 7.5 km Individual Biathlon Champion.

Team CW-X Strikes Empire Gold

Verizon Sports Complex, Lake Placid, N.Y. - Team CW-X captured gold in the opening leg of 2005 Empire States Games. Adding to the Team’s medal count today where Spoule Love with a gold in the 10 km classic open division, Joe Moore with a gold in the 10 km classic masters division, Tim Donahue with a Silver in the 10 km classic open division and Rosanne Lent, also with a Silver in open women. Also skiing well for Team CW-X was Ed Lis in the open division and Todd Carter in masters.

Tomorrow is the second leg to the two day pursuit format event. Sproule and Joe will be fighting to hold onto their respective leads to win the 10 km freestyle leg and claim the overall Empire gold with Tim and Rosanne in hot pursuit. Good luck to all …

Tim Hill Tops President’s Cup For Team CW-X

Lake Tahoe, C.A. - Tim Hill continued his dominance of the 2005 Fischer Cup, taking the overall win in this weekend’s President’s Cup at Tahoe Donner XC. Tim used the long climb out of the Euer Valley to pulled out an 8 second advantage on 2004 Fischer Cup Co Champion Tav Street. With this win, Tim has extended his lead in the 2005 Fischer Cup Championship to 12 points over Far West’s Mark Nadell. Good Skiing Tim!

Team CW-X Hoovers In the Medals

Team CW-X Keskinada Medals Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, Team CW-X cleaned-up at the 2005 edition of the Keskinada Loppet. Medaling for the Team were Tim Donahue (2nd overall, 1st in age group in 28km free), Joe Moore (10th overall, 2nd in age group in 28km free), Roseanne Lent (2nd in age group in 28km free), and finally, with his best Keski result ever, Sproule Love (11th overall and 3rd in age group in 50 km free. Also skiing very strongly were Ed Lis, with a top 25 overall placing in the 28km free and John Tomlinson, who just missed his three-hour goal in the 50km free by seconds.

The Keskinada is Canada’s largest cross-country ski event attracting more than 3,000 competitors from around the world. The Keskinada is part of the FIS Marathon Cup.

Toughing It Out in Alpenglow 20 km Freestyle

Tim Hill Suffers at the 20 km Alpenglow Freestyle Event Lake Tahoe, C.A. - Tim pulled a rabbit out of his hat, over came slow skis, and finished 5th overall (2nd in his age group) in the 20 km Alpenglow Freestyle event.

Donahue Repeats As Kort-Loppet Champion

Tim Donahue Repeats as Kort-Loppet Champion Lake Placid, N.Y. - The 23rd Annual Lake Placid Loppet was held today on the cross-country ski trails at the Verizon Sport Complex. Tim Donahue made the course, featuring 1,850 of total vertical climb and designed for the 1980 Olympic Winter Games, look easy. His time of 1:10:00.4 was almost 2 minutes clear of Kevin Emblidge 1:12:01, the second place finisher. Tim easily lead the race from start to finish. In the 50 km event, Team CW-X’s Sproule love skied a sensible race to finish 2nd in the 30 – 34 class and 5th in the over all.

In the 25 km classic event, Rosanne Lent skied to 2nd in the over all and 1st in her age group.

Joe Moore put in an outstanding performance finishing 2nd in the men’s 40-44 age group.

Ed Lis just missed a podium age group finish with a 6th in the men’s 35-39. John Tomlinson finished 7th in the men’s 40-44.
